Call centre outsourcing company Arvato has moved roles from her role as head of their global partnership with Microsoft and has now become the Managing Director for their public service business. The move follows a period of strong growth for the company which has included securing valuable framework contracts with the UK central government and NHS but they are still far smaller in this area compared with the giants of the sector (Serco and Capita).
Debra Maxwell has been with arvato for six years. She previously led arvato's global BPO partnership with Microsoft, managing teams in the USA, Ireland, Mexico, Singapore and Manila. Debra's previous roles within arvato have included General Manager Ireland and Global Operations Director at arvato Finance Services. In March 2013 arvato secured a seven-year contract to operate the first Independent Shared Service Centre (ISSC1) on behalf of the UK Government. The deal saw arvato acquire the existing Department for Transport (DfT) Shared Service Centre in Swansea, which it is planning to grow by competing for additional outsourced central government business via a government framework contract. Earlier this month arvato entered the UK public healthcare market with the acquisition of a successful HR Shared Service Centre from East Cheshire NHS Trust.
Debra Maxwell added: 'This is a really exciting time for our public sector business. We see strong potential for growth as the civil service reform agenda and the economic climate overall continue to drive the need for any organisation to operate more efficiently and access shared services. I'm looking forward to further develop our service offering for private and public sector BPO clients, with the support of our highly successful team.' Debra is also currently the International Director for the National Outsourcing Association (NOA). Prior to joining arvato she worked as Director of Shared Services at Surrey County Council.
arvato has been active in the UK public sector for almost 10 years and has established award-winning partnerships with clients including Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council, Chesterfield Borough Council and Slough Borough Council. .
