Advanced Payment Solutions (APS) is to relocate its call centre from Romania and is to outsource it to The Contact Company based in Birkenhead. The move will create as many as 300 new positions over the next 3 years for the company run by call centre veterans Asif Hamid and Juliet Rhodes. The site already employs 600 people on Merseyside.
APS runs the Cashplus portfolio of electronic banking and payment products and is targeting local authorities in a bid to grow its business. Chief executive Richard Wagner, said: 'We're bringing our call centre to Merseyside to help the UK economy. Our customer satisfaction levels are very high at 94%.However as we grow we want to ensure that all our customers, from consumers and businesses to government authorities, continue to receive the same high standard of support and attention.'
Mr Hamid said 'Companies are now bringing their call centres back to the UK because of the rising costs offshore and because they want to add value to their customer service,' Many industry insiders are suggesting that a number of other companies are also in the process of or considering relocating their call centre activities back to The UK from offshore due to low customer satisfaction, rising inflation and the availability of quality British call centre agents.
