Sunderland call centre outsourcing company, 2Touch have been acquired by Parseq. Industry inside information had suggested that 2Touch had been actively seeking a buyer & had come close being bought at the turn of the year. At that time, the company who were due to acquire them were acquired themselves by a large American company and so the deal was shelved. Now, it has been announced that Parseq have purchased them as part of their continued acquisition trail in The UK. Over recent years, Parseq have already purchased charity-focussed call centre Pell & Bales along with their sister company Spoken For.
2Touch were among the largest indepdent British owned vendors and had grown their operations on the back of major clients such as EDF. Whilst we wish Parseq the best of luck with their acquisition, they need to take note of other acquisitions which have failed to yield anticipated growth results. Entrepreneur run call centre companies like 2Touch have typically outperformed the corporate entities which now dominate the UK marketplace. It's proven that companies which hope to grow purely by acquisition at the expense of business development teams often find that they don't do as well as expected. However, 2Touch have a strong reputation and a strongly embedded client base & appear to be a good value purchase for Parseq who will do well to maintain some of the areas where 2Touch are clearly strong.
